The method explores successive bathymetric profiles to assess seabed morphodynamics based on wavelet analysis and cross-correlation. It is applied on 143 successive MBES surveys from a monitoring program in 10 areas of marine aggregate extraction in the Belgian part of the North Sea, resulting in 355 observations of morphodynamic parameters. These can be used to explore specific patterns such as the decrease in dune height in areas experiencing more extraction.
