Both were found in burrows in an unidentified sponge. <em>Upogebia nithyanandan</em> is resurrected as a valid species from the synonymy of <em>U. balmaorum</em> Ngoc-Ho, 1990, recently proposed by Dworschak &amp; Poore (2018).
