Beyond a shared decoration model for the shell, the differentiation between the two species is decisively established on the chromaticity of the animal, although the morphology of the shells and their decoration differ in several constant features. The similarity of the models representedin the external characters, in particular for the morphology and the decoration of the shells, attest to the fact that they belong to the same species radiation on a regional scale, but the number of phenetic differences suggests a relatively large evolutionary deviation between the two species.
