We chose three stations at La Goulette located in the Bay of Tunis, one on rocky bottoms covered with Algae and two on soft bottoms at two different depths : 3-4 m and 10-15 m. Out of a total of 1251 specimens, we were able to identify 4 species: <i>Bolinus brandaris</i>, <i>Hexaplex trunculus</i>, <i>Ocinebrina edwardsii</i>, <i>Ocinebra erinaceus</i>. Each species has been described and characterized by habitat preferences, trophic groups and biogeographicaffinities. Quantitatively, Hexaplex trunculus (Linnaeus, 1758),commonly called «Bakouma» in Tunisia, is largely dominant in the Muricidae population.
