Based on the analyses of further material from Canary Islands and the Mediterranean Sea, as well as photographic comparisons by SEM, the Sardinian record is assigned to <i>Alvania simulans</i> Locard, 1886 which shows a certain degree of variability in sculpture and colour of the shell. <i>Crisilla perminima</i> is thus excluded from the Mediterranean malacofauna.
