Voss (1956) for the first time outside the Mediterranean, but with doubtful identification, has never before been found on West African coasts. <i>Moroteuthis robsoni</i> sp. nov., has been recorded from Cape Town (South Africa) by G.C. Robson (1924) as <i>Moroteuthis</i> sp. <i>Todarodes sagittatus angolensis</i> subsp. nov. represents the species in the south Atlantic. Until recently it has never been recorded with certitude. <i>Ornithoteuthis ? antillarum</i> has been collected for the first time on the African coast; the genus was only known before from Japan and the Antilles. It seems premature to synonymise the genera and species of the Cranchiidae, as long as the adults and different larval stages are not better known, especially their anatomy. If L. Joubin (1933) has correctly identified his material as <i>Teuthowenia megalops</i>, this last species cannot be identical to <i>Verrilliteuthis hyperborea</i>. <i>Opisthoteuthis agassizii</i> has been collected for the first time on the African west coast. <i>Octopus burryi</i> , already known from the Cape Verde Islands, Senegal and French Guinea, has been found now in the south Atlantic, on the coast of Angola.","AbstractOtherLang":"La plupart des espèces énumérées dans ce travail étaient déja connues des côtes africaines. <i>Ancistroteuthis lichtensteini</i> que G.L. Voss (1956, p. 130) a signa lé pour la première fois en dehors de la Méditerranée, mais dont l'identification paraît douteuse, n'a jamais été récolté auparavant sur la côte occidentale de l'Afrique. <i>Moroteuthis robsoni</i> sp. nov. a été signalé de Cape Town par G. C. Robson (1924, p. 2; 1924 a, p. 595) comme <i>Moroteuthis</i> sp. A. <i>Todarodes sagittatus angolensis</i> subsp. nov. représente l'espèce dans l'Atlantique sud.
