The new species is compared with similar species of the genus (<i>R. lilacina</i> Récluz, 1843, <i>R. similis</i> Scacchi, 1836, <i>R. splendida</i> Eichwald, 1830 and <i>R. violacea</i> Desmarest, 1814), from which it differs in many characters, including teleoconch micro and macro sculpture and animal colour.
