A recent study has revealed that the northeastern Pacific species of <i>Paciocinebrina</i> are distinct from the European type species, <i>Ocinebrina aciculata</i> (Lamarck, 1822) and other eastern Atlantic species, including <i>Ocenebra</i> Gray, 1847.
