In the eastern Pacific, it had been previously recorded from the Bering Sea to southern California and from one isolated record off western Mexico. A total of 43 specimens, ranging from 36.9 to 215.6 mm leg span, was collected in a depth range of 750–2054&nbsp;m, all below the lower limit of the oxygen minimum zone.
