Five new valid species are recognized: <i>C. {Cymbiolacca) cracenta</i> McMichael, 1963, <i>C. {Cymbiolacca) complexa</i> Iredale, 1924, <i>C. (Cymbiolacca) houarti</i> Poppe, 1985, <i>C. {Cymbiolacca) moretonemis</i> Bail & Limpus, 1998 and <i>C. {Cymbiolacca) subelongata</i> Bail & Limpus, 1998. Two new subspecies are distinguished: <i>C. {Cymbiolacca) pulchra flindersi</i> ssp. nov and <i>C. {Cymbiolacca) intruderi rowseorum</i> ssp. nov. The species <i>C. {Cymbiolacca) excelsior</i> Bail & Limpus, 1998 is downgraded to subspecies.
