The classical cysteine proteinase inhibitor (E-64) and a cysteine proteinase activator (EDTA) affected the in vitro multiplication of <i>C. salmositica</i>. Concentrations of E-64 higher than 10 μm reduced the multiplication of <i>C. salmositica</i> while 5 mM of EDTA enhanced its multiplication.
