A consistent pattern of mean annual fluxes of nitrogen based on the primary production and the zooplankton grazing is set up. A mathematical model describing the dynamic behaviour of nutrients, phytoplankton, zooplankton and dissolved organic matter is proposed. The results of the simulation fairly well fit the recent observations made in the frame of the Math.
