Three new species are described, belonging to the genera <i>Trochammina</i>, <i>Massilina</i> and <i>Planulinoides</i>, and eight known species are reported from the New Zealand region for the first time. Numerous nomenclatural changes and misidentifications are discussed in the light of the examination of type and other specimens of d'Orbigny. Parker and Jones, Williamson, Brady, Heron-Allen and Earland, and Vella, all of which, except those of d'Orbigny. are deposited in the British Museum (Natural History).
