Dit model heef soortgelijke functonaliteiten als dat van Chernetsky e.a., 2010 maar is breder inzetbaar omdat het een algemenere breedtevariatie toelaat. Daarnaast is nu ook een belangrijk mechanisme, genaamd “spatal setling lag” (SSL), meegenomen. Dit proces accumuleert fijn sediment in gebieden waar de getijsnelheid laag is. Voor lage afvoeren (<~40 m<sup>3</sup>/s) wordt een estuarien troebelheidsmaximum (ETM) gevonden dat dichtbij de opwaartse stuw is gelokaliseerd. Bij afvoeren >~ 20 m<sup>3</sup>/s is er ook afwaarts een ETM dat verdwijnt als de af‐ voer hoger wordt dan ca 150 m<sup>3</sup>/s. Het SSL‐mechanisme is cruciaal voor het bestaan van dit afwaartse ETM omdat het voldoende sediment gevangen kan houden in het meer afwaartse deel van de Zeeschelde en de Westerschelde. Deze sedimentvang is direct gerelateerd aan de ruimtelijke verdeling van de M<sub>2</sub> ‐getijsnelheid in het bekken. Het troebelheidsmaximum nabij de stuw treedt enkel op voor valsnelheden hoger dan 0.5 mm/s.
