Samples were collected using <a href=\"/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/dredger\" title=\"Learn more about dredge from ScienceDirect's AI-generated Topic Pages\" class=\"topic-link\">dredge</a> trawlers and fishing nets on board the B/O Puerto Deseado, between 91 and 512 m depth. </span><a href=\"/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/reproduction-biology\" title=\"Learn more about Reproductive biology from ScienceDirect's AI-generated Topic Pages\" class=\"topic-link\">Reproductive biology</a><span> was studied using modern optical techniques including histology and scanning electron microscopy. Here we present the first record of <a href=\"/topics/agricultural-and-biological-sciences/genital-papilla\" title=\"Learn more about genital papillae from ScienceDirect's AI-generated Topic Pages\" class=\"topic-link\">genital papillae</a> for class Crinoidea. Genital papillae have been reported in all extant </span></span><a href=\"/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/echinoderm\" title=\"Learn more about echinoderm from ScienceDirect's AI-generated Topic Pages\" class=\"topic-link\">echinoderm</a> classes except for Crinoidea. In addition, a high proportion (16%) of hermaphroditic specimens was found in the analyzed samples. Finally, cystidean and pentacrinoid stages were found inside the marsupium of </span><em>Phrixometra nutrix</em><span>.
