Our study demonstrates that the differences in age and sex composition of OTU's are of no consequence for the branching of the obtained phenetic trees. This observation permitted us to screen the whole of the <i>L. flavopunctatus</i> s.l. species complex, to evaluate the validity of the already known taxa and to describe two species new to science.
