Morphological similarities of Benedict’s taxon with three other eastern Pacific species (<i>Pagurus albus</i> (Benedict, 1892), <i>Pagurus perlatus</i> H. Milne Edwards, 1848, and <i>Pagurus pseudoalbus</i> Ayón-Parente and Wehrtmann, 2019) are summarized. While examining museum specimens during this study, one female specimen representing a new species of <i>Pagurus</i> Fabricius, 1775, was discovered.
