De analyse van vaarwegsecties was gebaseerd op de meest recente peilingen  ontvangen van de Vlaamse Hydrografie.<br>De resultaten van de analyse werd vergeleken met golfslagmetingen te Terneuzen. Hieruit bleek dat na  realisatie van de Nieuwe Sluis Zeebrugge te locatie Visart, de belangrijkste waterstandsschommelingen verwacht worden van snelvarende sleepboten of binnenvaart. Deze scheepstypes blijken ook op vandaag  reeds de Visartsluis aan te lopen en de Vismijn te passeren (weliswaar met lage frequentie).<br>Er werd besloten om een vervolgonderzoek op te starten in de vorm van een dynamische afmeerstudie van  de vissersboten afgemeerd aan de Vismijn bij passage van de maatgevende zeevaart voor de Nieuwe Sluis.
