Hiervoor werd het numeriek model NeVla in verschillende versies (i.e., in Simona/Waqua en Delft3D) en met verschillende  eerder gekalibreerde ruwheidsvelden getest.<br>Uit een beschikbare dataset aan gevaren ADCP-metingen is een selectie van enkele getijden gemaakt voor  deze validatieoefening. De beschikbare dataset bevatte aanvankelijk enkel metingen tijdens hoge springtijen  en stormtijen. In het kader van deze studie is ook een recente meetcampagne tijdens doodtij aan de dataset  toegevoegd.<br>Voorafgaand aan de validatieoefening is eerst de springtij-doodtij-variatie onderzocht voor de  gemodelleerde dwarsstroming, alsmede de representatie van de springtij-doodtij-variatie van het verticaal  getij in het studiegebied. Vervolgens is de representatie van de dwarsstroming en het verticaal getij voor de  geselecteerde meetcampagnes gevalideerd.<br>In alle configuraties is het model in staat de neervorming en bijbehorende circulaire stromingspatronen rond  de Platen van Ossenisse kwalitatief te representeren. De sterke dwarsstromingen tijdens springtij worden  echter onderschat door de modelsimulaties. Hetzelfde geldt voor de aan de dwarsstroming gecorreleerde  maximum stijgsnelheid in Hansweert, die ook juist voor de hoogste getijden wordt onderschat. Ondanks deze  onderschatting hebben simulaties waarin het ruwheidsveld uit het operationeel model is gebruikt toch een  geringe voorspellende waarde voor de sterkte van de dwarsstroming tijdens de geselecteerde (spring)tijen  (R2 = 0,56-0,75). Er wordt door de modellen wel een duidelijke springtij-doodtij-variatie in sterkte van de  dwarsstroming gesimuleerd. Vanwege het ontbreken van voldoende meetdata tijdens reguliere tij-condities  kon deze springtij-doodtij-variatie nog niet worden gevalideerd.
