The reviewed designs involve the synergic combination of the marine uses for marine renewable energies (wind, wave, solar, tidal, OTEC, hydrogen and gas), aquaculture, tourism and leisure, transport and ports, or desalinization. Potential multi-use opportunities in European regions have been presented and their financial, technical, regulatory, and environmental benefits or challenges analyzed.
