Hoeveelheden die leidden tot hoge afvoeren en &nbsp;overschrijding van alarmdrempels op heel wat Vlaamse waterwegen.<br>De antecedente neerslaghoeveelheden vanaf half oktober 2023 waren aanzienlijk hoger dan de afgelopen &nbsp;jaren, maar sloten voor grote delen van Vlaanderen nog aan bij de neerslaghoeveelheden uit de &nbsp;referentieperiode. In (delen van) het IJzerbekken, het westelijke Leiebekken en (delen van) het Netebekken &nbsp;viel 100-125 % van de normale hoeveelheid neerslag in de periode 11/10/2023 – 2/1/2024. In grote delen &nbsp;van Vlaanderen waren het de neerslaghoeveelheden van 2 januari 2024 die tot de piekafvoeren en &nbsp;bijhorende peilen waarover dit rapport handelt leidden.<br>Zwaartepunt van de neerslag én de overstromingen langs de waterwegen lag op zowel de (Toeristische) Leie &nbsp;als de Dender waar alarmdrempels werden overschreden. Op de Leie was de waterstand te Deinze was met &nbsp;7.8 m TAW in de nacht van 3 op 4 januari 2024 de hoogste waterstand sinds de start van de metingen (2005). &nbsp;Op de Dender leidde de neerslag en hoge bovenafvoer tot alarmdrempeloverschrijdingen van &nbsp;Geraardsbergen tot Teralfene aan de afwaartse zijde van de stuwen. Aan de opwaartse zijde werden enkel &nbsp;alarmdrempels overschreden te Geraardsbergen en Teralfene.<br>Ook op de Durme te Lokeren, afwaarts de dam, werd de alarmdrempel overschreden van 2 tot 7 januari. &nbsp;Dit waterpeil is verhoogd door pompwerking. Vanaf het moment dat pompwerking verminderd kon worden, &nbsp;kon het peil op de Durme terug dalen onder de alarmdrempel. De beheerder nam de nodige maatregelen &nbsp;om schade aan de Durme-dijken tot een minimum te beperken.<br>Op de Boven-Zeeschelde werden in Melle top 10-piekafvoeren bereikt met GOG-werking in de opwaartse GOG’s tot gevolg.<br>Daarnaast werden piekwaterstanden gemeten op de Grote en Kleine Nete en trad overlast op langs de &nbsp;(onbevaarbare) zijwaterlopen in het Netebekken, die slechts beperkt konden uitwateren.<br>Piekwaterstanden werden in mindere mate ook gemeten op de Demer en de IJzer. Tot slot was er ook een &nbsp;overschrijding van de prewaakdrempel op de Gemeenschappelijke Maas.
