The species was likely introduced to Europe through the import of Japanese oysters. In 2016, the bryozoan was observed for the first time in the Sluice Dock of Ostend. To date, the Sluice Dock remains the only location in Belgium where the species has been found. The species can attach itself to various types of substrate and is a known fouling organism in its native region.","AbstractOtherLang":"Het Pacifisch mosdiertje <i>Pacificincola perforata</i> komt van nature voor in de Zuid- en Oost Chinese Zee. De soort werd allicht in Europea geïntroduceerd via de import van Japanse oesters. In 2016 werd het mosdiertje voor de eerste maal gesignaleerd in de Oostendse Spuikom. Tot op heden blijft de Spuikom de enige plaats in België waar de soort aangetroffen werd.
