Inventarisasi Teripang pada Perairan Socah Bangkalan, Madura = Inventory of sea cucumbers in the Socah waters of Bangkalan, Madura

Abstract

Socah waters are waters that are rich in marine biota, which comes from the water column to the bottom of the waters. One of the biota found in these waters is from the Phylum Echinodermata, namely sea cucumbers or what are usually called sea cucumbers. This research was conducted to determine the types of sea cucumber species in Socah Waters by identifying the morphology, anatomy and shape of spicules. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a random sampling technique based on information obtained from local fishermen regarding location points in Socah Waters where sea cucumbers are often found. The purpose of this research is to provide initial information regarding sea cucumber biodiversity in Socah Waters, Bangkalan Madura. The results show that there are five types of sea cucumbers found in Socah waters, namely the Colochirus quadrangularis type with spicule tables, Phyllophorus sp. with a tables spicule shape, Phyllophorella spiculata with a barbed wire rod spicule shape, Acaudina leucoprocta with a C-shaped spiracle type spicule shape, and Paracaudina australis with a C-shaped spiracle type spicule shape. Water quality parameters measured include temperature, DO, pH, salinity, brightness and depth. The water quality results obtained were a temperature of 29.73º, DO 6.12 mg/L, salinity 26 ppt, pH 7.65, brightness 55.3 cm, and depth 106 cm. Observing water plankton as food for sea cucumbers using a microscope with 10× magnification, several types of phytoplankton and zooplankton were found, including Skeletonema costatum, Synedra sp., Pinnularia sp., Biddulphia sp., Barnacles larvae, Daphnia sp., Rhizosolenia styliformis, Nitzschia sp., Pseudo -nitzschia sp., and Diatom coscinodiscus.
