A lectotype is selected. The genus <i>Puerulus</i> is revised, and a key to the three species provided. <i>Puerulus angulatus</i> ( Bate ), the type of the genus is extensively described and its synonymy is discussed. The two other species, <i>P. sewelli</i> Ramadan and <i>P. velutinus</i> Holthuis are described and compared with <i>P. angulatus</i>.
