Kataow Beach, with its unique blend of sandy and muddy substrates and mangrove patches, supports a productive ecosystem that sustains shrimp, crab, and small fish fisheries, making it a vital habitat for marine biodiversity and an essential resource for local fishing communities. Representing the first occurrence of this species on the Balochistan coast of the Northern Arabian Sea, the research extends the known distribution of <i>Acentrogobius dayi</i> beyond its initial discovery in Karachi, nearly 44 years ago. The findings not only fill a gap in the geographical distribution of this species but also underscore the ecological importance of Kataow Beach as a vital habitat for marine biodiversity.
