Seven of them were the new records to the study area, including <i>Centroceras gasparrinii, Gelidium nayaritense, Pterocladiella bartlettii, Hypnea charoides, Hypnea</i> cf. <i>edeniana, Gracilaria multifurcata, and Gracilaria rangiferina.</i> Of these seven species, <i>P. bartlettii</i>, <i>G. multifurcata</i>, and <i>G. rangiferina</i> were new records to the Bay of Bengal coast, whereas <i>H.</i> cf. <i>edeniana</i> and <i>G. nayaritense</i> were new records to the Indian Ocean. Our result suggested that red algal species cataloging is still under-representation in the study area.
