This study systematically evaluated China's potential for hydrogen production from wind power until 2060. The results show that China has a combined land and sea area of approximately 5.40 million km<sup>2</sup> that is available for wind power generation, with a total installed capacity of 14.68 TW for wind-based hydrogen production, which can produce 712.86 million tons/year of hydrogen at the technological level of 2020. With the gradual improvement in the conversion efficiency of water electrolysis, it can increase to 902.96 million tons/year by 2060, which is equivalent to 6.94–10.04 times China's total hydrogen demand in that year.
