This study analyzes 55 verified scholarly articles on spiny (Palinuridae) and slipper lobsters (Scyllaridae) in the region. Using keywords like “spiny lobsters,” “slipper lobster,” and “Southeast Asia,” the retrieval process identified Indonesia as the leading contributor (31 publications), followed by Malaysia (11), the Philippines (6), Singapore (4), Thailand (2), and Cambodia (1). Eighteen species were documented, covering morphology, ecology, threats, management, and distribution. Comparative analysis with specimens from the South China Sea Repository &amp; Reference Centre (RRC) revealed striking similarities between two Scyllaridae specimens and those from Thailand. Prominent species recorded include <i>Panulirus ornatus</i> (32 records), <i>P. homarus</i> (25), and <i>P. penicillatus</i> (16). This review provides updated insights into species status (native, invasive, commercialized), supporting sustainable fisheries management, species identification, conservation efforts, and regional research collaboration.
