Native from Japanese coasts, this species had previously only been reported from Spanish and Lusitanian coastal waters. These new observations confirm the presence of this species along the French Atlantic coast and constitute the most northerly record in Europe. We precise here the ecology of the species and discuss the vectors of its spread along the French coasts.
