The model uses a linear form of the Navier-Stokes and continuity equations to obtain the horizontal velocities in the x and y directions. Current meters at the upstream boundary provided a time-dependent inflow. An open boundary condition was used at the downstream end ot the model to allow only outward energy flux. Additional current meters in the interior were used for validation of the model. Two types of wind stress specification and one case of no wind forcing were applied.
