De uitgevoerde monitoring &nbsp;betreft de continue metingen van waterstand, debiet, stroming, saliniteit en sedimentconcentratie, &nbsp;alsook vaarten (halftij-eb en 13-uursmetingen) en periodieke metingen zwevende stof. &nbsp;Tevens is een inschatting gemaakt van de fluviatiele aanvoer van sediment, alsook van de PFAS-vrachten &nbsp;doorheen de Zeeschelde. Tenslotte worden ook de morfologische veranderingen van de Zeeschelde &nbsp;beschreven op basis van de topo-bathymetrische metingen.<br>Het enige stormtij in 2024 trad op op 15 januari 2024, te Antwerpen werd een waterstand van +6,68 mTAW &nbsp;bereikt. Op 23 december werd er een zeer hoog laagwater gemeten (+2,29 mTAW). Dat was niet meer &nbsp;gebeurd sinds 5 januari 2012 (+2,28 mTAW).<br>Het jaargemiddelde bovendebiet van 2024 voor Schelle bedraagt 172 m³/s. Dit is de hoogste waarde sinds &nbsp;2002. Over de periode 1949-2021 is er in slechts 5% van de jaren een jaardebiet hoger dan deze waarde. &nbsp;De aanvoer via de Rupel vormt bijna het hele jaar door het grootste aandeel van de bovenafvoer in Schelle. &nbsp;Gemiddeld 58 % van de aanvoer in Schelle wordt langs de Rupel aangevoerd. Volgens het KMI was 2024 het &nbsp;natste jaarsinds het begin van de metingen in 1833. Logischerwijs zorgt dat voor hoge afvoeren in de rivieren.<br>De gemiddelde stroomsnelheden bij Oosterweel tijdens vloed en eb zijn vergelijkbaar met elkaar, hoewel &nbsp;de gemiddelde waarden voor eb iets hoger liggen dan bij vloed. Dit is voornamelijk het geval voor de &nbsp;periode juni-november. Er ontwikkelt zich gedurende de springtijcondities en in beperktere mate bij &nbsp;gemiddelde tijcondities een duidelijke piek in stroomsnelheid tijdens de vloedfase, ongeveer 1 tot 2 uur &nbsp;voor het optreden van kentering hoogwater. Het stroomsnelheidsverloop van 2024 is, in vergelijking &nbsp;met de voorgaande jaren, gekenmerkt door eerder lagere snelheden.<br>In vergelijking met voorgaande jaren is de saliniteit in 2024 heel laag. In Oosterweel en Prosperpolder wordt &nbsp;de saliniteit het langst gemeten en de saliniteit was er sinds 2003 niet meer zo laag, resp. &lt; 5 PSU en &lt; 10 PSU.<br>In 2024 worden de hoogste gemiddelde SSC waarden waargenomen ter hoogte van Oosterweel-Boven en Melle.<br>De jaarstatistieken voor de sedimentconcentratie bij respectievelijk kentering hoogwater en kentering laagwater vallen binnen de range met voorgaande jaren maar eerder aan de lage kant, mogelijks als gevolg &nbsp;van de hogere aanvoer.<br>De methode voor de bepaling van de sedimentvracht is geactualiseerd. Ondanks de vernieuwde methode &nbsp;voor de correctie a.h.v. (EWI)ijkmetingen blijven de grootste jaarlijkse vrachten aangevoerd worden vanuit &nbsp;het Zennebekken.
