Although the studied specimens have a poor state of preservation of the front and anterolateral margins, some characters, such as the shape of carapace, the orbits, the supra-orbital margin, the epibranchial regions, and the shape of the thoracic sternum, are shared with Geryon Krøyer, 1837 (Geryonidae Colosi, 1924) to which we tentatively assigned the species Coeloma isseli. Therefore, the new combination Geryon isseli (Ristori, 1886) is herein proposed.
