The described material, 66 specimens in total, is kept in the archaeological collection of the University Museum of the University of Tokyo, and has not been published before. The results show that the Neolithic and Chalcolithic occupants of Marv Dasht used freshwater and marine shells for ornamental purposes. Local freshwater mussels provided mother-of-pearl.
