Nine submerged species established in colonization plots. Of these colonization events, 60% were achieved by plant fragments, either in the sediment or floating in the water, and 16% resulted from vegetative growth. Only 4 of 16 submerged species in the community were represented in the seed bank. The collection of vegetative propagules in nets demonstrated that drifting propagules were very abundant and that the relative abundance of species in the propagule stream corresponded most closely with the standing community.","AbstractOtherLang":null,"BibLvlCode":"AS","StandardTitle":"Macrophyte colonization in a freshwater tidal wetland (Lyme, CT, USA)","OrigTitleLangCode":"en","OrigTitleLangCodeExtended":"eng","OrigTitleLangID":15,"DateLastModified":{"date":"2025-07-02 08:58:19.190595","timezone_type":1,"timezone":"+02:00"},"UserAccessRight":null,"UserAccID":null,"AuthorKeywords":"community structure; seed bank; vegetative propagules; tidal wetland","OtherDescriptors":null,"Notes":null,"AnaPub":2003,"MonPub":null,"DateUpdate":"2018-05-17","DateCreate":"2004-01-13","SecASFANote":null,"ConfID":null,"PeerRev":1,"VlizCoreFlag":1,"WoScode":"WOS:000187220500006","VABBcode":null,"OpenAcc":0},"refs":null,"anarec":{"AnaID":56293,"PubliDate":2003,"Pagination":"325-338","XtraPublOfAnaID":null,"ISBN":null,"Volume":"77","Issue":"4","BRefMon":null,"BRefMonRR":null,"BRefXtra":null,"BRefXtraRR":null,"SerBRefID":42195,"SerRR":"Aquatic Botany.
