Of particular concern are the effects of juvenile hormone analogues such as methoprene, on non-target arthropods. The aim of this study was to examine the influence of methoprene on molting of the estuarine mysid <i>Neomysis integer<\/i>. Subadults and < 24h old juveniles were exposed for 3 weeks to 0.01, 1 and 100 \u00b5g methoprene\/l. Methoprene delayed molting at concentrations 1 and 100 \u00b5g\/l in the < 24h old juveniles, whereas no effects were observed on subadults. These results demonstrate that insecticides are capable of disrupting molting in non-target organisms.
