- Nieuwe vindplaatsen van het Nederland uitgestorven gewaande vlokreeftje Echinogammarus stoerensis (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Gammaridea)
- Abstract
- The gammaridean amphipod Echinogammarus stoerensis has never been a common species in The Netherlands, due to the scarcity of suitable habitats. It is typically found under boulders on a gravelly substrate, where a freshwater flow occurs over the littoral zone. As a result of reinforcement of sea dykes, the typical habitat disappeared from The Netherlands. However, E. stoerensis proves to survive in less suited substrates with more silt, and freshwater supply only from rain.
