The diagnostic characteristics of the species are the small amphids, short cephalic setae, and lack of long setae at base of spinneret. <i>Xenolaimus pauroamphus</i> sp. nov. from the locality is described. Diagnostic characteristics of this species are the small amphid and the absence of a gubernaculum. The occurrence of <i>Xyala striata</i> is reported, and specimens from Georgia Bight are described.
