Samples were taken in five points, each season, at 1.20 m maximum depth, between Novermber 1976 and November 1977. Bathymetic data on the three sample stations and adjacent sea temperatures are added. The study objective was to know fish species inhabiting this delimited sector, its relative abundance in species number, specimens, biomass, and principal features about species sizes. The most abundant specimens were <i>Eleginops maclovinus, Galaxias maculates</i>, and <i>Odontesthes regia</i>, respectively. Data on the geographic distribution of the species is presented and attempts are made to characterize the estuary in this way.
