An original method of coding of the environmental factors defined 17 strata in which particular assemblages of species were differentiated. This coding was obtained by the treatment of the numerous observations of an underwater video camera. The strata are dispatched in 5 superstrata: Estuaries and rias - muddy banks - slopes and channels - gravels of the middle of the bay - rocky areas.
