In lava debris (sand, gravel) in the mediolittoral zone of Tenerife, Canary Islands, two new Isopoda belonging to this superfamily are encountered. One belongs to a new genus, Dignatroides , closely related to the Mediterranean genus <i>Gnathostenetroides</i>. The other belongs to the genus <i>Caecostenetroides</i>, previously known from the Mediterranean and Japan.
