This workshop, organized jointly by the Ministere de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ - Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Québec) and the Centre aquicole marin de Grande-Rivière (CAMGR Grand-Rivière saltwater aquaculture centre) in collaboration with the Centre spécialisé des pêches (CSP Fisheries Specialization Centre), Université du Québec à Rimouski (uQAR - University of Québec in Rimouski) and the Société de développement de l'industrie maricole (SODIM - Mariculture industry development board), invited and brought together some 50 experts and participants representing governments, institutions and the private sector who demonstrated a common interest in developing the aquaculture industry in eastern Québec. The primary goal of this workshop was to stimulate reflection on the future of saltwater fish farming in the Québec context and so, help guide research and development activities for this type of farming in Québec, particularly in the following areas of intervention: the complete aquaculture cycle, seeding and grow-out. At the end of this workshop, a follow-up committee was created to help identify promising avenues of development, and to coordinate research and development efforts","AbstractOtherLang":"Cette publication comprend le sommaire des activités qui se sont déroulées lors de l' Atelier sur l'élevage de poissons marins au Québec, tenu à Grande-Rivière les 18 et 19 mars 1998. Cet atelier, organisé par le ministère de l' Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l' Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) et le Centre aquicole marin de Grande-Rivière (CAMGR) en collaboration avec le Centre spécialisé des pêches (CSP), l'Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) et la Société de développement de l'industrie maricole (SODIM), a réuni sur invitation environ 50 experts et participants du secteur gouvernemental, institutionnel (formation et recherche) et privé démontrant un intérêt commun pour le développement de l'industrie aquicole dans l'est du Québec. L'objectif principal de cet atelier consistait à provoquer une réflexion sur l'avenir de l'élevage de poissons marins en contexte québécois afin de contribuer à l'orientation des activités de recherche et de développement de ce type d'élevage au Québec selon les axes d'intervention suivants: cycle aquicole complet, ensemencement et engraissement.
