On one hand, the crustacean metamery is greatly variable with homonomous myriapod-like primitive organization (e.g. <i>Remipedia</i>) and with highly heteronomous tagmosis (<i>e.g. Malacostracea</i>). On the other hand, evolution of one to several homeotic genes complex is proposed for the evolution from myriapod to insect (Akam diagram).
