The distribution and seepage of saline groundwater in such areas is changing due to the reclamation of so-called deep polders. The ultimate situation is studied in a highly schematized, one-dimensional model. To this aim some principles have been worked out and a calculation method has been developed. The results indicate interesting tendencies.
