A population of <i>Sorites orbiculus</i> from Villefranche-sur-Mer is described and characterized by biometric study. The CaCO<sub>3</sub> production is estimated to be 150 g.m-².year-¹. Up to one quarter of the specimens display an abnormal morphology. This is related to the same phenomenon observed in association with recent worldwide mass bleaching in reefs, whose origin is controversial.","AbstractOtherLang":"Les grands foraminifères symbiotiques sont a l'extrême limite nord de leur répartition en Méditerranée française. On décrit une population de <i>Sorites orbiculus</i> de Villefranche-sur-Mer. Une étude biométrique permet de la caractériser et d'estimer le taux de production de calcaire à 150 g.m-².an-¹. Plus du quart des individus présente des anomalies de croissance.
