The genus <i>Laophontina</i> as redefined herein unifies <i>L. dubia, L. acantha, L. noodti,</i> and <i>L. posidoniae</i>. The recently described <i>L. paradubia</i> is considered as conspecific with <i>L. dubia</i>. All other species presently assembled in the genus are allocated to different genera. <i>Galapalaophonte</i> is redefined and comprises <i>G. pacifica, G. triarticulata</i> and <i>G. variabilis</i> besides four new species. <i>Laophontina distincta</i> and <i>W. striata</i> n. sp. are unified in the genus <i>Wellsiphontina</i> n. gen. whereas <i>Laophontina reducta</i> is allocated to <i>Amerolaophontina</i> n. gen. <i>Laophontina</i> spec. Mielke, 1982 is removed to the genus <i>Mexicolaophonte</i> and considered as a separate species: <i>Mexicoloaphonte mielki</i> n. sp. Keys to the species are given where relevant.","AbstractOtherLang":"Le genre <i>Laophontina</i> est révisé, après un nouvel examen des séries- type et des analyses de matérial nouveau, provenant des côtes de l' Afrique de I 'Est et de la mer des Antilles. Le genre <i>Laophontina</i> tel qu'il est redéfini ici, réunit <i>L. dubio, L. ocontho, L. noodti</i> et <i>L. posidonioe</i>.<i> L. paradubio</i>, récemment décrit, est considéré comme étant de la même espèce que <i>L. dubio</i>. Toutes les autres espèces actuellement regroupées sont attribuées à des genres différents. <i>Galapalaophonte</i> est redéfini et comprend <i>G. pocifico, G. triorticu/oto</i> et <i>G. voriobi/is</i>, en plus de quatre nouvelles espèces. <i>Laophontina distincta</i> et <i>W. striata</i> n. sp. sont regroupés dans le genre <i>We//siphontina</i> n. gen., tandis que <i>Laophontina reducta</i> est attribué à <i>Amerolaophontino</i> n. gen.  <i>Laophontina</i> spec. MIELKE, 1982 est inclus dans le genre <i>Mexicolaophonte</i> et considéré comme une espèce séparée : <i>Mexicolaophonte mie/kei</i> n. sp.
