Development of tests that aim to derive parameters that determine solute transport is therefore an important step. Sensitivity analyses provide a very useful tool to deduce which parameters can be derived with a certain test and what their reliability is. This is illustrated with a forced-gradient tracer test and a new three-dimensional density dependent solute transport model.
