Abstract in English: In the Dutch delta area some key locations (during the pilot phase in the Oosterschelde and Westerschelde), functional and structural variables of the ecosystems will be monitored at regular intervals during a period of at least 10 years. Aim is to assess the extent and causes of long-term changes in ecosystems and biodiversity, to indicate threats to a system, to obtain basic data for models, and to indicate forcing factors in the systems.
