- Long-term measurements of the seawater quality, heavy metals, pigments, phytoplankton and weather at Päiväluoto at-sea monitoring station, from 1967 onwards
- Abstract in English
- The water temperature and the salinity were measured 3 times per month, using a Limnos water sampler at Päiväluoto at-sea monitoring station (60`15'18.9972'' N, 21` 57'3.744'' E), from 1967 to 2017. The water quality was measured from 1974. Since 2017, the measurements were carried out along the whole water column, 3 times per month, using a RBR CTD sonde. In addition, the Online monitoring station ODAS buoy (YSI 6952 buoy base and a multiparameter sonde YSI 6000) measures the water quality four times a day, from 2 m to 40 m depth, installed to operate in the spring as soon as the ice allows (with the objective of recording the spring blooming of phytoplankton in its entirety) and removed in early winter before the ice comes. The buoy also measures the wind speed and direction, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, temperature and relative humidity.
