Description Close-up of oral side of arachnoid echinoids: Parallel rows of tubercles carrying spines, and pore-pairs set with tube feet are arranged like the teeth of a comb. These fields are called "combed areas". On the oral side the combed areas alternate with plain fields, set with larger tubercles and spines for locomotion.
