Description

Bacterial counts and endotoxin concentrations of aerosol samples collected at the beach of Ostend, Belgium, and generated in the laboratory with a marine aerosol referenc tank (MART). Data regarding gene induction in human reporter cell lines (HEK-Blue hTLR4, HEK-Blue hTLR2-hTLR6, THP1-Dual) after stimulation with these collected aerosols.

more

The data was used to examine levels of bacterial endotoxins in SSA and their effect on cell-signalling pathways of the human innate immune system. Human reporter cell lines (HEK-Blue hTLR4, HEK-Blue hTLR2-hTLR6 and THP1-Dual) were exposed to aerosol samples collected at the beach of Ostend (Belgium) and generated with a Marine Aerosol Reference Tank (MART) in the laboratory. Bacteria cell count s in aerosol samples were measured with flow cytometry and endotoxins were quantified using the rFC assay.
